Welcome to Binubolinao.com
This is the only section in Binubolinao.org that will be written in English.

Welcome everyone. This website is dedicated to the Bolinao Language, Binubolinao. Binubolinao is part of the lives and culture of the people of Bolinao and the neighboring islands of Kabaruyan and Santiago.

Today, Tagolog is being emphasized as the spoken language in all areas of the Philippines and is currently the standard curiculum in schools. This is very noticiable with the children and students in Bolinao. This creates a concern that Binubolinao may not be continued by the younger generation.

In addition, there are no books that teach Binubolinao and there is no dictionary. Though there is a phrasebook available, it is mainly to assist with speaking in Tagalog, Ilocano and English. There is also a story book, Tarúman Nin Bolinao that is currently out of print but maybe available in the used book market of the internet.

The main focus of this website is to collect words in Binubolinao in order for us to study the language and teach those who are interested in learning it. When we have collected enough words, we will then produce a Binubolinao Dictionary. We would also like to include folktales, folksongs, superstitions, riddles and nursery rhymes in the dictionary.

We have also created a Facebook page called Binubolinao where we will be able to create a place for us to speak in Binubolinao. We will be able to write about our experiences that include where we have been and where we are now. We would also like to indicate where the all the people are that know how to speak Binubolinao around the world.

If you would like to help with the Binubolinao.net, please write us at Binubolinao.com and let us know your comments and suggestions.

“ It is up to us to continue the language of Binubolinao.”
